Field Raider (Gothic)

Field Raider
from The World of Gothic
(gothic 2, 4)

These six legged insects got their name from the fields of maize, which are their natural home. Farmers are in constant battle with field raiders who are destroying their harvest. Field raider is usually of a light brown color, but their cuirass is a bit more browny. Their body is ellipse like, the cuirass is high and rotund and the tentacles are long and thin. A population of these creatures differs a lot from the expanse of the field they live on. The bigger the field, the more raiders live on. They usually eat maize but some herbs aren't excluded from their menu. Field raiders attack with their front tentacles. They try to confuse their victim with moving sideways. Field raiders should be no problem for at least a bit skilled fighter, who can easily kill them with melee weapons.
